Aims

  • To help build the network of professional marketers by recruiting and retaining members and studying members
  • To disseminate best practice and marketing content in the sector
  • To become the voice of the marketing profession in the sector
  • To enhance the professional standing and profile of those working in the marketing field in or around higher education

The purpose and benefits of the HE Member Interest Group

Best practice

We share common problems - influenced by internal and external factors. We feel that it will be beneficial to share experiences and mistakes and identify best practice - particularly where we feel it might translate to and from other sectors.

Network of like-minded professionals

In the same way that it is useful to meet other marketers through the Institute, it is especially useful to meet other marketers that work in HE or FE. It enables us to facilitate follow-ups, potential collaboration, mentoring and networking.

Key issues

We intend to use the HE MIG to indentify key issues/common problems that as a group we can research and pool our experience/expertise to identify key solutions on a more formal basis.

Professional development

The HE MIG intends to influence the future development needs - and how they can be met from within The Institute or via the group itself, by pooling our resources or identifying key training needs we wish to facilitate.
